Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a hands-on Lead Java Software Development Engineer to join a high-energy team focused on transforming the digital experience of pharmacy and health care. You will work with cutting-edge applications, optimize performance, and ensure high code quality through testing and reviews in an Agile environment.

The role requires extensive Java/Spring, microservices, and cloud experience, with leadership responsibilities to mentor engineers onsite and offshore.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software development lifecycle including ideation, coding, testing and deployments.
• 7+ years with Java, Spring, Junit, APIs using Spring Boot and microservices.
• 3+ years supporting healthcare clinical applications.
• 3+ years deploying in cloud environments (prefer Google Cloud).
• Experience with Kubernetes, DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prioritize and complete tasks within deadlines as a technologist.
• Lead and mentor onsite and offshore engineers to deliver multiple use cases.
• Collaborate with clinical product, interoperability and EHR partners on design decisions.
• End-to-end development including deployment, observability and production support.
• Develop cloud-native apps using Spring Boot, GCP and REST APIs.
• Unit test with JUnit and Mockito; ensure code quality via reviews.
• Build/deploy services using GitHub, CircleCI, Jenkins as part of CI/CD.
• Monitor health and KPIs; respond to production issues as needed.
• Advise on security best practices and industry standards.
• Participate in PI planning and Scrum events; collaborate with product owners.
