Job summary

IAMUS Consulting is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and implement Java-based software for complex systems. You will work in a fast-paced, collaborative team, focusing on RESTful services, microservices, and cloud-ready architectures.

The role requires a strong background in Java frameworks, OOP, and agile practices, with the possibility to work 1–2 days per week at the Columbia, MD office. Hidden AI tooling experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Clearance: Active Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.
• 5+ years of software engineering with modern Java frameworks (e.g., Spring, Guava)
• Experience designing enterprise APIs and RESTful services
• Experience with Microservices architecture and OOP paradigms
• Proficiency in Linux and configuration management tools (Git, Nexus, Maven)
• Hybrid work with 1–2 days per week in Columbia, MD office
• Familiarity with agile software development lifecycle and tools (JIRA, Confluence)

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement Java-based software capabilities for complex systems.
• Collaborate with engineers to deliver high-quality software for clients.
• Integrate AI-enabled workflows and maintain code quality through robust tests.
• Refactor code and manage multi-file features across repositories.
• Ensure security, performance and architectural alignment of agentic workflows.
