Job summary

Enlighten is seeking a talented Software Engineer to design, develop, and implement complex Java-based software capabilities for computer-based systems. You will collaborate with engineers to create software solutions that meet client needs and stay current with evolving technologies.

Qualifications

• Active Secret level U.S. Government Security Clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.
• 5+ years in Software Engineering with Modern Java Frameworks (Spring, Guava) and a related Bachelor's degree; or 9 years with HS diploma.
• Experience designing enterprise APIs and RESTful services.
• Experience with Microservices architecture.
• Familiar with Agile software lifecycle and configuration tools (Git, Nexus, Maven).
• Comfortable on Linux command line and solving problems under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop Java-based software capabilities for complex systems.
• Design, develop and implement software with modern tools and technologies.
• Collaborate with engineers to deliver high-quality software for clients.
• Integrate AI agents (Claude Code, Gemini) into daily engineering workflows.
• Lead agentic feature delivery: multi-file implementations, refactoring, automated tests.
• Guide AI agents through multi-repo architectures while auditing for security and performance.
• Work in a fast-paced small business environment; perform additional duties as assigned.
