Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Senior Software Development Advisor to design, test and maintain a distributed processing application using Python and Java in a SAFe environment.

The role collaborates with Product Owner, Analysts and DBAs, works with Scrum/Kanban teams, and requires strong scripting, AWS and Snowflake skills; a US security clearance is preferred and citizenship or permanent residency is required.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience: BS/BA with 8+ years; MS/MA with 6+ years; PhD with 3+ years.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong Python with Java experience or strong Java with Python experience.
• Experience with distributed workloads via Spark/Hadoop/Other.
• SQL skills; Snowflake experience.
• AWS experience.
• Shell scripting.
• Team player with excellent communication skills.
• US Citizen or Green Card; must have been in US 3 of the last 5 years.
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test and maintain a complex distributed processing application utilizing Python and Java.
• Collaborate with Product Owner/Data Coaches/Analysts/DBA and Scrum/Kanban teams.
• Ensure alignment with program standards, backend-frontend requirements.
• Fulfill SAFe Agile delivery expectations.
• Work independently and effectively with little to no supervision.
