Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer to join the Aetna Technology team, building the next-generation digital health platform. You will lead engineers onsite and offshore, drive end-to-end delivery, and collaborate across clinical product, interoperability, and EHR integration partners to ensure high performance and secure, scalable cloud-native services.

You will work with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (GCP preferred) while championing

Qualifications

• 10+ years experience in software development lifecycle including ideation, coding, testing, reviews and deployments.
• 7+ years experience with modern software development practices.
• 3+ years experience with Java, Spring, JUnit, APIs using Spring Boot and Microservices Architecture.
• 3+ years supporting healthcare clinical applications.
• Experience with Kubernetes, SOAP services, IntelliJ and DevOps tools (Git, Jenkins, Github Actions).
• 3+ years of cloud deployments (preferably Google Cloud).
• 3+ years building and operating large scale distributed systems.
• 3+ years working in large applications with significant data and transactions.
• 2+ years creating/managing GCP storage buckets and Dataflow workflows.
• 2+ years ETL, data quality checks, and DB management.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers to deliver multiple use cases and products.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize performance and ensure code quality.
• End-to-end development and deployment, including production operationalization and observability of services.
• Develop cloud-native apps using Spring Boot, REST APIs on GCP or other clouds.
• Participate in PI planning and lead work distribution among developers.
• Engage in Agile Scrum activities: Planning, Refinement, Reviews and Retrospectives.
