Job summary

State Street is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to contribute to multiple modules within the Charles River IMS suite. You will architect, develop, and maintain cloud-native applications, collaborating with product managers to deliver scalable solutions.

Strong focus on Java/C#, React, SQL, and observability is required. The role emphasizes agile practices, code reviews, and mentoring while ensuring high-quality, tested software for complex, transactional environments.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of professional software engineering experience.
• At least 5 years designing and developing solutions independently.
• Minimum 3 years in highly transactional, concurrent systems.
• 3 years cloud-native development (Azure preferred) with microservices.
• 5+ years working with Agile methodologies.
• Strong OO programming, scripting and language versatility.
• Experience with SQL Server and Postgres; Oracle/Exadata preferred.
• UI development in .NET/C#, React, JavaScript desirable.

Responsibilities

• Drive technical excellence in architecting and developing Enterprise and Cloud-Native applications.
• Collaborate with analysts and product managers to create simple, sustainable solutions.
• Provide guidance during code reviews and design decisions.
• Develop, test, and deploy software using Java, C#, React, SQL, and JavaScript.
• Write unit and automated tests to ensure high-quality products.
• Mentor junior engineers and assist onboarding.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and coordinate cross-team activities.
• Troubleshoot large, mission-critical client implementations.
