Job summary

Charles River Development, part of State Street, is seeking a senior software engineer to enhance and maintain modules in a collaborative agile team. You will troubleshoot, design, develop, test, and document software using Java, C#, SQL, and JavaScript within financial services contexts. The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of relevant experience, strong OO programming skills, and a track record in Agile environments.

A B.S. in a technical field is required; MS degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or related technical field; MS preferred.
• 2–5 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in financial services.
• Experience with OO programming, compilers/interpreters, databases, scripting, and modern languages.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, develop, test, and debug software enhancements within Charles River modules.
• Collaborate with Analysts and Product Managers to translate business requirements into workable software.
• Participate in architecture design within the team’s scope of responsibility.
• Develop, test, and implement programs using Java, C#, SQL, JavaScript or related languages.
• Contribute to code reviews and write unit and automated tests for quality.
• Participate in agile scrum rituals and cross-team activities to complete tasks.
