Job summary

State Street is seeking a senior Java developer to design and implement back-end services in a fast-moving team. The role focuses on Java 11+ with JEE tech and microservices, while collaborating with front-end and other teams to ensure robust deployment and production support.

The ideal candidate will have strong OO design skills, experience with FRP, and a passion for high-quality software development in a AWS/Kubernetes environment.

Qualifications

• Core Java 11+ and JEE tech incl. concurrency, JDBC, Spring, Hibernate/JPA.
• Strong OO design skills; FRP experience is a plus.
• Write clean, high‑quality code.
• Experience with data modeling and database development (SQL, PL/SQL).
• Knowledge of microservices architecture and Kubernetes.
• Excellent communication and work ethic.
• Passionate about professional software development.

Responsibilities

• Define high-level technical requirements and architecture for back-end services.
• Develop new features and enhance existing ones.
• Create documentation and diagrams.
• Collaborate with other teams for deployment, testing and production support.
• Integrate back-end with front-end development/services.
• Ensure coding, privacy and security standards are followed.
