Job summary

Cognizant in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Sr. Java Developer to lead a team in designing, developing and delivering enterprise Java applications across client projects.

You will mentor engineers, drive quality, and work with cross-functional teams to implement microservices using Java, Spring Boot, AWS, and Kafka. This onsite role requires four days in office. The position offers a competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience designing and building Microservices.
• Working experience with AWS cloud services.
• Experience with Kafka for event streaming and messaging.

Responsibilities

• Lead and drive the engineering team to deliver projects on time and to a high standard of quality.
• Design, modify, develop, write and implement software programming applications using Java and related technologies.
• Support and install software applications and operating systems and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing, and certification of software.
• Apply your experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, performing complex tasks with creativity and latitude.
