Job summary

Cognizant in Bentonville, AR is seeking a Senior Java Lead to design, build and support scalable, cloud-native enterprise applications. You will collaborate with architects, product owners and cross-functional teams to deliver robust backend solutions.

Onsite five days a week, you will use Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, Hibernate, Docker and Kubernetes on major cloud platforms, resolve complex production issues, and drive quality through CI/CD and observability practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 years of IT experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
• Experience designing large-scale, high-performance distributed applications.
• Strong Apache Kafka and event-driven architecture experience.
• Cloud experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP; Docker and Kubernetes hands-on.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.
• Build and support event-driven solutions using Apache Kafka.
• Optimize database performance with Hibernate/JPA and advanced SQL.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement sustainable solutions.
• Deploy and support applications on Azure, AWS, or GCP using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to deliver scalable solutions.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot to improve productivity and code quality.
