Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking a Programmer III in Austin, TX to perform complex analysis and development with guidance, supporting current and emerging business processes and system solutions while mentoring junior analysts.

The role emphasizes coding, testing, debugging, and producing technical documentation, with responsibilities spanning from design through implementation across statewide interfaces.

Qualifications

• Five (5) or more years’ experience in programming with Java/J2EE and Web Services.
• Experience delivering complex software solutions with SDLC adherence.
• Ability to document issues and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• participates in system design, planning, production support, and customer services for custom and prepackaged software systems.
• develops, tests, and debugs programs; coordinates production run instructions and end-user manuals.
• provides technical support, analyzes business processes, coordinates automation research, and oversees development staff.
