Job summary

Luxoft is seeking an experienced Java Developer with advanced Apache Hadoop expertise to join our engineering team. This role extends beyond administration to deep troubleshooting, source-code analysis, and building customised Hadoop components.

You will develop Java applications, diagnose complex distributed system issues, modify Hadoop code when required, and collaborate across CI/CD, platform engineering, and development teams to automate deployment and configuration.

Qualifications

• Strong Java development skills.
• Advanced Hadoop knowledge beyond administration.
• Ability to read, debug and modify Hadoop source code.
• Strong troubleshooting for complex distributed systems.
• Strong Linux knowledge.
• Git and CI/CD experience.
• Experience with Ansible, Kubernetes, Python, Azure DevOps, Terraform, Istio.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java applications and platform components.
• Troubleshoot complex Hadoop issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Investigate problems at Hadoop source-code level.
• Develop/apply patches and build customised Hadoop components when required.
• Support and improve the existing Hadoop installed base.
• Automate deployment, configuration and infrastructure activities.
• Work across development, platform engineering and CI/CD.
