Luxoft, Jersey City, seeks an Expert Forward Deployed Engineer to improve security, release reliability, and resilience of critical banking apps. You will code and configure hands-on, lead complex engagements with stakeholders, and drive modernization across Java, Spring, and legacy systems.

You will upgrade runtimes, containerize apps, improve CI/CD, and enforce secure practices while mentoring client teams toward sustainable engineering practices.

Formación

• 5+ Years of hands-on Java development in production.
• Must have experience in a forward deployed, business analyst, or customer facing role.
• Must actively write and debug code, with recent production changes in last 12–18 months.
• Advanced Java and JVM development, with strong TypeScript skills for Node.js environments.
• Practical experience with Spring or similar enterprise frameworks.
• Proficiency in Test-Driven Development, automated testing, and multiple test frameworks.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated builds, quality gates, and deployments.
• Familiarity with Docker and containerized delivery.
• OpenShift, Kubernetes, or similar container platforms.
• Linux command-line and production troubleshooting.
• Build tools such as Maven, Gradle, or npm.

Responsabilidades

• Collaborate with development teams to resolve issues related to testing, security, release, deployment, resilience, and legacy tech.
• Review code, dependencies, test coverage, runtime configurations, deployment, logs, monitoring, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Write, debug, test, review, and enhance production application code and configurations.
• Develop and maintain automated unit, integration, component, regression, and deployment tests.
• Apply TDD practices and select testing approaches with guidance.
• Source test data and apply masking to protect sensitive info.
• Investigate vulnerabilities and dependency risks, implement secure remediation, and regression test.
• Upgrade Java/JVM, NPM runtimes, Spring components, libraries, images, OS, and software.
• Assist in automated dependency updates using Renovate or similar tools.
• Support modernization of legacy apps and middleware including WebSphere/WebLogic where applicable.
• Containerize applications with Docker and deploy on OpenShift platforms.
• Improve Git workflows, PRs, and code-review processes.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines, quality gates, deployment validation, and rollback procedures.
• Support automation with Ansible or similar tools.
• Apply secure coding patterns and secrets management standards.
• Improve logging, health checks, metrics, tracing, dashboards, and alerts.
• Support highly available and resilient deployment strategies.
• Troubleshoot production and non-production issues using code, SQL, logs, metrics, traces, and diagnostics.
• Communicate progress, risks, decisions, blockers, and dependencies to stakeholders.
• Document solutions and transfer knowledge to development and support teams.
• Own a defined technical workstream from assessment to stabilization.
