Job summary

IAMUS Consulting seeks a Software Engineer to design, develop, and implement Java-based software for complex systems. You will collaborate with engineers to create robust APIs and microservices while embracing modern tools and techniques.

You will explore Next-Gen Coding Agents and ensure secure, efficient AI-assisted development in a fast-paced hybrid environment, with 1–2 days weekly at the Columbia, MD office.

Qualifications

• Clearance required for U.S. Government work; not required on day one
• 5+ years of software engineering with Java frameworks (e.g. Spring, Guava) or 3 years with Masters
• Experience designing enterprise APIs
• Experience RESTful web services
• Experience in Microservices architecture
• Proficient in OOP and agile software lifecycle
• Hybrid work 1-2 days/week at Columbia, MD office

Responsibilities

• Develop Java-based software capabilities
• Integrate AI agents and test development
• Guide AI agents through multi-repository architectures and audit code for security
• Work in a fast-paced, small business environment
• Additional duties as assigned
