Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Senior JAVA Developer in Melbourne, FL to support Intelligence Community and DoD customers as part of a high-performing team. You will work with emerging service and distributed computing technologies for satellite situational awareness data processing and distribution.

The role involves designing, developing, and deploying scalable Java applications, managing MongoDB data stores, and exposing data via RESTful/GraphQL APIs with a focus on secure pipelines and agile practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or Master’s with 6+ years.
• Top Secret clearance with ability to upgrade to TS/SCI and polygraph.
• Proficient in Java (Model, Entity, DTO, DAO).
• Experience with scalable data ingestion pipelines (NiFi).
• Experience building data processing apps in Java for mission-critical systems.
• Design and manage NoSQL databases (MongoDB) for large-scale space-domain data.
• Build secure Data APIs (RESTful/GraphQL) for internal/external consumption.
• Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to translate requirements into solutions.
• Implement data quality, validation, and governance within pipelines.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data workflows and DB performance.
• Participate in full SDLC with agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement scalable data ingestion pipelines using NiFi.
