Job summary

Peraton seeks a Software Developer to sustain and enhance Java-based mission systems in a TS/SCI environment, with opportunities to work on EMMETT SDA I&W initiatives. You’ll focus on stability, performance, and operational readiness while collaborating across teams and supporting deployments from development through production.

The role requires 5+ years of related experience (or 4+ with a Master’s), Java in production, and DoD 8570-aligned certification planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or Master’s with 4+ years and polygraph-ready TS/SCI.
• 2+ years of Java experience in production environments.
• 1+ years of experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Spring Framework or Spring Boot and REST APIs.
• Ability to obtain DoD 8570 certification (Security+ or CISSP) within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide TS/SCI Java software sustainment and maintenance for existing mission systems.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve production issues across modules and interfaces.
• Maintain, patch, and enhance Java-based applications for security and operational improvements.
• Support engineering, integration, and configuration management activities in deployed environments.
• Monitor health, logs, and performance; support deployment and environment management.
• Develop technical documentation and SOPs related to sustainment and operations.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, cybersecurity, and ops teams to ensure system availability.
