Job summary

Trusted Space, LLC in Herndon, VA and Aurora, CO seeks a Senior Java Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain high-performance applications. You will operate in an agile team, contribute to full software lifecycle, and mentor junior developers.

Requirements include 10+ years in software, Java, Spring, Kafka/RabbitMQ, Docker/Kubernetes, TS/SCI with poly, and DoD 8570 certification timeline. On-site work with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• 10+ years in software engineering or related experience.
• 5+ years of experience with Java for production level software.
• Experience with the Java Spring Framework.
• Experience with messaging frameworks (e.g. Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Experience with containerization (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).
• Ability to work in both Windows and Linux environments.
• An active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
• Ability to obtain a DoD 8570 certification, including CompTIA Security+ or CISSP, within 6 months of start date.

Responsibilities

• Supports program objectives to include software development in a collaborative agile environment.
• Works with users to define existing or new system scope and objectives. Provides analytical support and technical advice during the conceptualization, development, and implementation phases.
• Assists in the review and evaluation of systems and software for adherence to government or commercial directives, standards, guidelines, and criteria concerning software safety and systems safety.
• Able to lead small high performing team of developers across the full software development lifecycle.
