Motion Recruitment Partners (MRP) is seeking a Sr. Java Developer to join a financial tech client in Newport Beach, CA.

You will design, develop, and support enterprise backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, Oracle, and REST APIs, building scalable services for critical workflows. The role is hands-on (90%) with some client engagement, requiring 8+ years of experience, strong microservices, CI/CD, SQL, and cloud experience.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs, and backend design.
• Strong Oracle SQL development, data modeling, and tuning.
• Experience with distributed systems and enterprise apps.
• Proficient in Git workflows, CI/CD, testing, and production support.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and support enterprise backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, Oracle and REST APIs.
• Build scalable services, integrations, and backend components for critical workflows.
• Partner with Product Owners, QA, and stakeholders to refine requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Write maintainable, well-tested code and participate in code reviews and releases.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement durable fixes.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve performance, resiliency, and developer productivity.
