Job summary

DSD Laboratories seeks a Senior Java Software Engineer to lead design, development, and modernization of enterprise applications. You will work across the full software lifecycle, enabling secure, scalable solutions in AWS/Azure environments and DISA contexts.

Requirements include 12+ years in enterprise Java, 5+ years building web apps and services, and ability to obtain a Secret clearance. On-site at Gunter AFB, Montgomery, AL; full-time with a strong DevSecOps focus.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of enterprise Java software development experience, including 5+ years building enterprise web applications and web service interfaces.
• 5+ years of experience with SQL and PL/SQL development and database performance optimization.
• 3+ years supporting CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps processes, and 3+ years supporting cloud-hosted applications in AWS and/or Azure.
• Experience with WebLogic, GlassFish, or similar application servers; proficiency in Oracle ADF, JSF, TopLink, and JasperReports.
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, integration concepts, Agile methodologies, source control, and secure coding practices.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; ability to obtain and maintain required government security clearance (CompTIA Security+ or better).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, modernize, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise Java applications supporting mission-critical systems.
• Develop and maintain Java-based web applications, web services, APIs, and enterprise integrations.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and defect resolution across application, middleware, database, and cloud environments.
• Develop and optimize SQL, PL/SQL and database objects for functionality and performance.
• Support deployments and configuration management within WebLogic, GlassFish, Docker, and cloud-hosted environments; participate in Agile activities.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD automation pipelines; support DevSecOps initiatives including security scanning and artifact management.
• Analyze and optimize performance using monitoring and testing tools; support cloud migration and modernization.
