Job summary

Everforth Apex is seeking a Senior Java Engineer in Pennington, New Jersey (Onsite) to lead design and delivery of enterprise applications. You will mentor engineers, drive architectural decisions, and partner with product owners and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, system-wide performance improvements, and a strong focus on security and DevSecOps practices within a large enterprise context.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with Java-based enterprise applications.
• Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and the Spring Framework ecosystem.
• Experience with REST APIs, microservices architecture, and SOAP-based integrations.
• Proficiency with JavaScript and modern web frameworks (Angular/React preferred).
• Extensive experience with Oracle databases, including SQL optimization, PL/SQL, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
• Experience with application servers including Tomcat and WebLogic.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Strong understanding of software design patterns and object-oriented design principles.
• Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, high-performing enterprise applications using modern Java technologies.
• Lead technical design, architecture discussions, and solution reviews for complex initiatives.
• Drive end-to-end delivery from requirements analysis through development, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven solutions.
• Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability across distributed systems.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and business partners to refine requirements and define technical solutions.
• Ensure compliance with security, audit, risk, and regulatory standards.
• Lead root cause analysis and resolution of production issues for business-critical applications.
• Conduct code reviews and establish development standards and best practices.
• Mentor and develop engineers across the team.
• Champion automation, CI/CD, DevSecOps, and engineering efficiency initiatives.
