Job summary

Global Payments is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join Team Kerfuffle on our VAP Global Ecommerce platform. You will design and deliver scalable software, moving toward microservices while maintaining a high-volume payment processing system.

You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business goals into technical solutions and drive features from conception to production, with a blend of hands‑on coding and architectural decisions.

Qualifications

7+ years of Java software engineering experience.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering/CS or equivalent.
Experience with financial systems, payments infrastructure, or high‑volume transactional systems.
Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and event‑driven applications using Java and Spring Boot.
Experience with microservices and scalable platforms in a high‑availability environment.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and test software for scalability, reliability, and data recovery in a high-volume platform.
Collaborate with Product, Platform, Merchant Services, and Support to translate requirements into technical solutions.
Apply Agile practices like pair programming and TDD to improve quality.
Deploy features to production with zero downtime and no impact to current processing.
Build domain expertise in e‑commerce payments and develop new product features.
Foster a team-focused culture with strong collaboration and communication.
