Job summary

Kunai seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join a high-impact payments modernization program. You will deliver Java services with Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, and Liquibase migrations while shaping domain-driven design across card-network integrations.

You will build a micro-frontend (Next.js/React), own identity architecture (OAuth2/OIDC with Okta), and lead cloud IAM and CI/CD initiatives within an OpenShift/Kubernetes environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, focused on Java.
• Relational databases experience with Oracle/PostgreSQL; Aurora/Migrations a plus.
• Proficient with containerized deployments (OpenShift/Kubernetes).
• Experience with Spring Boot/JPA, Drools, and integration/orchestration (Camel).
• Kafka or similar event-streaming platforms; security and IAM concepts.
• Frontend exposure (Next.js/React) and OAuth2/OIDC identity flows.

Responsibilities

• Own domain-driven design, bounded contexts, and universal language in a payment domain.
• Develop Java services with Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, and Liquibase migrations.
• Design and manage Camel-based integration workflows and Kafka-based event flows.
• Build a micro-frontend in Next.js/React and own OAuth2/OIDC identity architecture.
• Define and govern cloud IAM, storage, and CDN (AWS-style) standards.
• Lead CI/CD and automated testing across unit, contract, and end-to-end tests.
