Job summary

MISO is hiring a Software Engineer III to design, build, test, and deploy Java/Spring Boot applications in data-intensive, mission-critical environments. You will contribute across the full development lifecycle, including APIs, databases, cloud and container platforms, automated testing, and CI/CD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in software development with Java/Spring Boot.
• Experience applying AI-native engineering practices across development workflows.
• Good judgment in validating AI-generated output and applying security/privacy practices.
• Proficiency with Git and CI/CD workflows and code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, deploy, operate, and modernize reliable Java/Spring Boot applications in data-intensive, mission-critical environments including APIs, databases, cloud, and container platforms, with automated testing and CI/CD.
• Determine technical approach for complex features, considering security, reliability, performance, maintainability, data integrity, and operability.
• Serve as technical lead for assigned features, refining requirements, estimating work, coordinating implementation, and supporting deployment and release.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to clarify evolving requirements, evaluate tradeoffs, and move valuable work forward.
• Apply generative AI across the SDLC to accelerate delivery and improve quality.
