MISO is seeking a Software Engineer III to design, build, and modernize Java/Spring Boot applications in data-intensive, compliance-driven environments across cloud and on-prem. You will lead features, collaborate with product and architecture teams, and champion AI-enabled development practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with 5+ years in software development.
• Extensive Java/Spring Boot design, development, and production support.
• Experience applying AI-assisted development tools in workflows.
• Ability to evaluate security, privacy, and governance for AI-enabled solutions.
• Proficiency with CI/CD, Git workflows, and code reviews.
• Experience with APIs, integrations, and data quality concepts.
• Understanding of cloud-native architectures and container platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, deploy, operate, and modernize Java/Spring Boot applications across data-intensive, mission-critical environments.
• Set technical approach for complex features considering security, reliability, and performance.
• Lead features by refining requirements, estimating work, and coordinating implementation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to clarify evolving requirements and drive delivery.
• Apply AI throughout the SDLC to accelerate delivery and improve quality.
