Job summary

CERES Group is seeking a senior software engineer to join an agile Scrum team. You will analyze, design, develop, test, and debug software enhancements across trading platform modules in a financial services context.

You will collaborate with BAs and PMs to translate complex requirements into sustainable software, participate in architecture design, and contribute to documentation and customer-facing materials. Strong OO and database skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of progressive software engineering experience.
• 2–5 years of experience in financial services: PM, Trading, Compliance, Post-Trade or Wealth.
• Proficiency in OO programming, databases, scripting and modern languages.
• Able to contribute to design specs with some senior staff guidance.
• Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration in teams.
• At least 3 years in an Agile development environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, develop, test, and debug small to medium software enhancements.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Managers to translate requirements.
• Participate in design of product architecture within team scope.
• Develop and test software using Java, C#, SQL, JavaScript or related languages.
• Contribute to code reviews and write unit and automation tests.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and cross-team activities.
