Job summary

Leidos is seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain healthcare applications and data integration solutions that support public health surveillance and data exchange. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of Java experience and hands-on HL7 CDA expertise, with strong skills in XML processing and RESTful APIs.

You will independently design complex healthcare integration solutions, interpret CDA specifications, troubleshoot data exchange issues, and mentor

Qualifications

8+ years of professional software development experience with Java.
Experience with HL7 CDA healthcare data exchange.
Experience parsing, validating, transforming CDA XML.
Proficient in XML processing technologies.
Ability to design and implement interfaces between healthcare systems.
Experience with Git, CI/CD, automated testing, debugging, and Agile.
Experience with Schematron rules for HL7 CDA validation.
Root-cause analysis of production integration issues.
Maintain backward compatibility across CDA guides.

Responsibilities

Independently design and implement complex Java-based healthcare integration solutions.
Interpret HL7 CDA specifications and translate data requirements into designs.
Troubleshoot data exchange, validation, and interoperability issues.
Conduct code reviews and mentor junior and mid-level developers.
Collaborate with healthcare SMEs, business analysts, QA, and customer stakeholders.
Identify opportunities to improve architecture, maintainability, and automated testing.
