Job summary

Leidos is seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain healthcare applications and data integration solutions for NHSN. The role requires strong Java skills and hands-on HL7 CDA expertise to support public health surveillance and data exchange.

You must be a US citizen or Green Card holder located in the United States with ability to obtain Public Trust clearance. Responsibilities include implementing healthcare data interfaces, processing CDA documents,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
8+ years of professional software development experience with Java.
Hands-on with HL7 standards, especially HL7 CDA.
Experience parsing, validating, transforming CDA XML.
Experience designing interfaces between healthcare IT systems.
Relational DBs, SQL, data mapping.
Git, CI/CD, automated testing, Agile practices.
Root-cause analysis of production integration issues.

Responsibilities

Independently design and implement complex Java-based healthcare integration solutions.
Interpret HL7 CDA specs to translate data requirements into designs.
Troubleshoot data exchange, validation, and interoperability issues.
Conduct code reviews and mentor junior/mid developers.
Collaborate with healthcare SMEs, business analysts, QA, and stakeholders.
Identify opportunities to improve architecture, maintainability and automated tests.
