Job summary

EPAM Systems in the United States seeks a Senior Java Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable backend services, with occasional Angular/TypeScript frontend support. Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional Java development with banking experience.
• Strong Java 8+ skills, solid OOP and design patterns.
• Advanced Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data or Quarkus expertise.
• REST APIs, JPA/Hibernate or Panache, and Maven proficiency.
• SQL Server knowledge with transactional data handling.
• Apache Camel hands-on experience.
• Git, Azure DevOps, and microservices familiarity.
• CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies understanding.
• Angular/TypeScript basics with review and debugging skills.
• JUnit/Mockito unit testing proficiency.
• Analytical, problem-solving, and strong communication.
• Fluent Greek and English language skills.
• Nice to have Docker/Kubernetes exposure and ELK stack.
• Cloud experience (Azure/AWS/GCP).

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and sustain backend Java services (8+) with Spring or Quarkus.
• Create RESTful APIs with versioning, docs, and performance focus.
• Persist data via JPA/Hibernate with SQL Server.
• Develop integration flows using Apache Camel with monitoring.
• Apply microservices best practices and resiliency patterns.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and releases with Git and Azure DevOps.
• Use Copilot daily for coding, refactoring, tests, and docs.
• Contribute to AI-enabled features and discuss LLM integration risks.
• Provide occasional Angular/TypeScript frontend support for fixes.
• Assist with AWS-based operations, IAM, logging, and monitoring.
• Diagnose issues, perform root-cause analysis, and deliver durable solutions.
• Collaborate in Agile ceremonies and guidance via code reviews.
• Mentor teammates and promote engineering best practices.
