Job summary

This role emphasizes performance tuning, scalable architectures, and close collaboration with PMs and QA in a remote-friendly US environment. The ideal candidate has 15+ years in software development, strong Java/J2EE skills, and experience with XML, SOAP, SQL, message queues, and NoSQL.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 15 years' related experience in a commercial software development role.
• BS/MS in Computer Science or a closely related field.
• Strong object-oriented programming skills with hands-on Java/J2EE experience.
• Experience with XML, SOAP and SQL; familiarity with queues, event sourcing and NoSQL.
• Proven performance optimization and troubleshooting of Java applications.
• Experience with Linux/Unix scripting and Oracle relational databases; knowledge of app servers.
• Experience with Agile development, CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement new product features according to requirements while following high development standards.
• Work as a back-end server engineer in an Agile team with developers, PMs, and QA engineers.
• Design and develop Java components to maintain and create new services.
• Solve technology and usability challenges daily and ensure thorough testing.
• Provide solution support and troubleshooting post-deployment.
• Promote Agile principles and contribute to future product direction.
