Job summary

Primefocus Health is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead backend platform development for our healthtech platform. Hybrid role based in the US with opportunities to influence architecture and security practices.

You will own design and implementation of microservices, RESTful APIs, and scalable infrastructure, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver reliable remote patient management solutions, HIPAA-compliant and secure by design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
• 4+ years hands-on software development experience with microservices and RESTful APIs using Java Spring Boot.
• Experience designing and maintaining backend platform components (e.g., identity management, asset management, notifications, ETL).
• Proficiency in both SQL and NoSQL database systems.
• Familiarity with Git-based version control, CI/CD pipelines (GitLab), and container orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with HIPAA/HITECH-compliant environments and proficiency in Python or C++.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, development, testing, and deployment of backend services and platform features.
• Build and maintain microservices using Java Spring Boot and RESTful APIs.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve performance or security issues across the stack.
• Participate in sprint planning, estimation, retrospectives, and daily standups.
• Lead or participate in peer code reviews to ensure high-quality standards.
• Maintain technical documentation on systems, APIs, and development workflows.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, design, and security teams.
• Support implementation of secure coding and HIPAA-compliant development practices.
