Vaco LLC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Back-End Developer focused on Cloud and IoT to design scalable, secure backend services powering connected devices and real-time video applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build robust systems for IoT ecosystems and camera-based products worldwide.

The ideal candidate has strong Java backend experience, cloud computing expertise, and modern software practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in Java backend development and cloud-based application design.
• Extensive knowledge of AWS cloud services, including DynamoDB, EC2, S3, and Lambda.
• Experience with scalable distributed systems and microservices architecture.
• Strong understanding of RESTful API development to support mobile and connected device applications.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Git, and container orchestration tools.
• Familiarity with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software engineering practices.
• Knowledge of security best practices for cloud services and IoT applications.
• Bonus qualifications include experience with smart home or consumer electronics products, IoT ecosystems, real-time video streaming, and large-scale backend infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain secure and scalable backend services for IoT and connected device platforms.
• Implement RESTful APIs to support mobile applications and real-time video streaming solutions.
• Collaborate with front-end teams, product managers, and hardware engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
• Utilize AWS cloud services to build and optimize scalable distributed systems that handle large volumes of data and device interactions.
• Manage containerized applications using Kubernetes, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Develop automated testing frameworks and participate in code reviews to uphold code quality standards.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements to enhance reliability and security.
• Stay updated with emerging IoT and cloud technologies, integrating innovative solutions into existing platforms.
• Contribute to documentation, technical specifications, and best practices for backend development.
