Job summary

Dahl Consulting is seeking a Senior Java Backend Engineer to design and enhance scalable backend systems for enterprise-level digital experiences in the Brooklyn Park area. You’ll focus on Java, Spring Boot, microservices, RESTful APIs, and cloud-native architectures.

Hybrid work arrangement—onsite two days per week near Brooklyn Park, MN—with remote days remaining. You will collaborate across data, analytics, and product teams to deliver high-performing solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
Experience with Kafka and MongoDB in production environments.
Deep knowledge of API development, RESTful services, and microservice architectures.
Experience with system integrations and distributed backend systems.
Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including BigQuery.
Experience with NoSQL databases and data modeling for large-scale applications.
Understanding of modern backend frameworks, software design patterns, and scalable architecture principles.
Experience working within Agile software development environments.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
Build and support microservices architectures that integrate with internal and external platforms.
Develop and optimize RESTful APIs and system integrations.
Work with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including BigQuery, to support data-driven applications and services.
Collaborate with data engineering, data science, and product teams to deliver scalable solutions.
Implement best practices for software development, security, performance, testing, and documentation.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues within distributed systems and backend environments.
Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering standards and processes.
Leverage modern development tools and emerging technologies, including generative AI solutions, to improve application capabilities and developer efficiency.
