Job summary

Corps Team is seeking a Java Developer for a 6-month contract in Morrisville, NC. The role is hybrid with onsite on Tuesdays through Thursdays and requires strong Java/Spring Boot expertise to design, build, and maintain backend services for a water technology provider.

The ideal candidate will work with SQL Server and NoSQL databases, RESTful APIs, and engage in code reviews, performance tuning, and security practices. Collaboration with customers and Agile teams is expected.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Java 11 and 17.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and the broader Spring ecosystem (Spring Data, Spring Security, etc.).
• Relational databases Microsoft SQL Server and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis).
• Experience with RESTful API development.
• Familiarity with Git.
• Knowledge of object-oriented design and design patterns.
• Hibernate / JPA experience.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based backend services and APIs using Spring Boot.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code.
• Develop and optimize database queries with SQL and NoSQL.
• Participate in code reviews and share knowledge.
• Debug and resolve application issues and performance bottlenecks.
• Implement security and data protection best practices.
• Interact with customers remotely and in person as needed.
• Collaborate with teams to resolve tickets and incidents.
• Document customer interactions and workflow.
• Support an Agile development environment.
