Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment seeks a Backend Engineer to help design, develop, and operate scalable Java-based services powering the PlayStation Network and related digital ecosystems.

You will work on APIs, microservices, and cloud-native components, collaborating with product managers, designers, QA, and security to deliver reliable services across consoles, web, mobile, and connected devices.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional Java backend development experience.
• Strong Java 17+/21+ experience with Spring Boot or related frameworks.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases and SQL.
• Proficient in automated testing and version control, CI/CD, and Linux.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services in a cloud-native setup.
• Build and enhance APIs, microservices, and platform components for PlayStation Network.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on commerce, subscriptions, identity, and more.
• Write clean, secure, well-tested code and develop/maintain tests.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation; support AWS, Docker, Kubernetes.
