Job summary

ITMC Systems, Inc. is seeking a senior Java backend developer to design and build backend services and APIs using modern Java tech and AI-assisted development practices.

You will work with a product engineering team and mentor peers while delivering robust REST APIs and microservices. Ideal candidates have 7+ years of Java experience, strong Java 11/17+ skills, Spring Boot, SQL proficiency, and a disciplined approach to reviewing AI-generated code for security and quality.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Java/backend development experience.
• Strong hands-on Java (11/17+) and Spring Framework knowledge.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Solid OO design, patterns, and clean-code practices.
• Proficient SQL with relational databases and testing (JUnit/Mockito).
• Git, CI/CD pipelines, and production debugging expertise.
• Experience using AI coding assistants with disciplined code review.
• Understanding API security, auth, error handling, and resilience.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Java backend services with Spring Boot.
• Build, maintain REST APIs and microservices architecture.
• Translate requirements into technical designs and code.
• Apply AI-assisted tooling while upholding standards and reviews.
• Generate unit/integration tests and ensure test coverage.
• Integrate apps with databases, APIs, and messaging platforms.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and backlog grooming.
• Troubleshoot production issues and mentor peers on AI practices.
