Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Software Engineer III to join the Asset & Wealth Management tech team. You will contribute to secure, scalable software components and APIs, collaborating in an agile environment, while applying AI-assisted tools for coding, testing, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering with 3+ years of experience.
• Proficiency in backend technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, and micro-services.
• Experience building microservices and RESTful API based applications.
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
• Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools with ability to critically evaluate AI outputs.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations.
• Experience across the whole Software Development Life Cycle.
• Demonstrated ability to independently solve design and functionality challenges with minimal supervision.
• Experience working with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), distributed systems, and web technologies, including RESTful APIs and web services, WebSockets, and JSON.

Responsibilities

• Executes standard software solution, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
• Writes secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidance.
• Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity while validating outputs through peer review and testing.
• Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications.
• Applies knowledge of tools within the SDLC toolchain, including AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve automation value.
• Applies technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and solve technical problems of basic complexity.
• Gathers, analyzes, and draws conclusions from large, diverse data sets to inform secure, stable application development.
• Learns and applies system processes, methodologies, and skills for secure, stable code and systems.
