Job summary

Harris ERP is seeking a Senior Software Developer to design and ship production-grade backend services in Java, mentor a small team across time zones, and lead modernization efforts from design through production rollout. You will own API design, collaborate with product and QA, use AI coding tools to improve workflows, and ensure reliable operations in a live, revenue-generating product.

The role requires strong communication across US-based and overseas teams and a track record of delivering

Qualifications

Backend services designed and shipped in Java or equivalent modern language.
Experience owning REST API design and integration in production systems.
Experience mentoring other developers and guiding architecture and code reviews.
Comfort working with distributed or outsourced teams and strong async communication.
Active use of AI coding tools as part of regular development workflow.
Solid grounding in relational database design and SQL.

Responsibilities

Develop and ship production code using modern Java frameworks and practices; stay hands-on in the codebase.
Own non-trivial modernization efforts end-to-end from design to production rollout.
Provide day-to-day direction, coaching, and mentorship to a small team across time zones.
Collaborate with VP/Leadership on staffing, performance feedback, and career growth discussions.
Foster distributed collaboration with asynchronous updates, documentation, and review cadences.
