Job summary

Harris ERP seeks a Senior Software Developer to design and ship backend services, primarily in Java, while mentoring a small team across local and overseas developers. You’ll report to the VP of R&D and collaborate with product, QA, TechOps, and other teams to modernize our offerings and implement AI-enabled delivery.

The role emphasizes architecture, code quality, and operational health, with milestones after 6 and 12 months that demonstrate progress and impact on the platform.

Qualifications

• Design and ship production-grade backend services in Java or similar.
• Own REST API design and integration in production systems.
• Mentor other developers and review code to help growth.
• Work with distributed outsourcing teams and strong async communication.
• Hands-on use of AI coding tools as part of development workflow.
• Solid grounding in relational DB design and SQL.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategies to enhance the Customer Support department, aligned with company objectives and customer needs.
• Collaborate with the VP of Operations to define KPIs and roadmaps to achieve targets.
• Design, build, and ship production code using modern Java frameworks and enterprise-grade practices.
• Own modernization end-to-end from design through rollout and testing.
• Provide day-to-day direction and mentorship to a team across time zones.
• Partner with the VP of R&D on staffing, performance feedback, and career growth conversations.
• Build async updates and documentation habits for effective distributed collaboration.
• Provide AI-enabled delivery and tooling adoption within the team.
