Job summary

Precision Technologies in New Jersey is seeking a Senior Java Architect to design scalable, secure enterprise applications. Lead architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and drive modernization of legacy systems into microservices-based solutions.

You will partner with product owners and executive stakeholders to translate business needs into robust software architectures, leveraging Java 17/21, Spring Boot, cloud-native patterns, and CI/CD practices.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Java development and enterprise app engineering.
• Expertise in Core Java, Java 17/21, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and Microservices.
• Experience designing enterprise application architecture and distributed systems.
• Proficiency in RESTful APIs, API security (OAuth 2.0, JWT) and Spring Security.
• Cloud architecture experience with AWS or Azure.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Git and automated testing.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, high-performance enterprise applications using Java 17/21, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
• Define application architecture, standards, design patterns and best practices.

The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices architecture, cloud platforms, and enterprise application design, along with experience leading technical teams and driving architectural decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, high-performance enterprise applications using Java 17/21, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
• Define application architecture, technical standards, design patterns, and best practices.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in Java development and enterprise application engineering.
• Strong expertise in Core Java, Java 17/21, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and Microservices.
• Extensive experience designing enterprise application architecture and distributed systems.
• Expertise in RESTful APIs, API security, OAuth 2.0, JWT, and Spring Security.
• Strong knowledge of design patterns, SOLID principles, OOP, and domain-driven design.
• Experience with AWS or Azure cloud architecture and cloud-native application development.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka, messaging systems, and event-driven architecture.
• Strong database design, SQL optimization, and data modeling skills.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Git, and automated testing frameworks.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, technical decision-making, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AI integration, Generative AI, or LLM-powered enterprise applications.
• Knowledge of API gateways, service mesh, observability, and distributed tracing.
• Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools.
• Familiarity with enterprise security, compliance, and high-availability architectures.
• Experience leading architecture reviews and large-scale application modernization initiatives.
• Relevant cloud or Java certifications are a plus.
