Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Java Developer to design, develop, and support scalable enterprise applications using Core Java, Python, PL/SQL, and microservices. You will collaborate with business analysts, architects, and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into secure, reliable tech solutions.

The role is remote within the United States with flexible work arrangements, and a strong emphasis on CI/CD, code reviews, and production support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years of hands-on experience in Core Java application development.
• Hands-on experience with Node.js and React.js for development.
• Strong experience with Python for backend services, automation, or API development.
• Advanced PL/SQL experience, including stored procedures, packages, triggers, query optimization, and database performance tuning.
• Experience designing and developing microservices-based applications, including REST and SOAP API development and integration.
• Experience with Git, SDLC, Agile/Scrum methodologies, unit testing, and production support.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications using Core Java, Python, PL/SQL, and microservices architecture.
• Develop and integrate RESTful and SOAP web services to support communication across internal and external systems.
• Design and optimize PL/SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, packages, and database solutions with a focus on performance.
• Participate in code reviews, debugging, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and production support activities.
• Support CI/CD, version control, testing, documentation, deployment, and production release activities using Git and related DevOps tools.
