Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Java Developer for a remote position in the United States. This role focuses on designing, developing, and supporting scalable enterprise applications using Core Java, Python, PL/SQL, and microservices.

You will collaborate with business analysts, architects, and cross-functional teams, implement REST and SOAP APIs, optimize database code, and participate in CI/CD and production support activities. A bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of hands-on experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years hands-on Core Java application development.
• Experience with Node.js and React.js for development.
• Strong Python experience for backend services, automation, or API development.
• Advanced PL/SQL with stored procedures, packages, and tuning.
• Experience building microservices with REST and SOAP APIs.
• Git, SDLC, Agile/Scrum, unit testing, and production support.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise apps using Java, Python, PL/SQL, and microservices.
• Develop and integrate RESTful and SOAP web services across systems.
• Optimize PL/SQL queries and database performance.
• Participate in code reviews, debugging, root cause analysis, and production support activities.
• Support CI/CD, version control, testing, documentation, and deployments.
