Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Java Developer to design, develop, and support scalable enterprise applications using Core Java, Python, PL/SQL, and microservices. This remote role is open to qualified US applicants with a strong backend and API focus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of hands-on Core Java application development.
• Hands-on experience with Node.js and React.js for development.
• Strong experience with Python for backend services, automation, or API development.
• Advanced PL/SQL experience including performance tuning.
• Experience designing microservices with REST and SOAP APIs and integration.
• Experience with Git, SDLC, Agile/Scrum, unit testing, and production support.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications using Core Java, Python, PL/SQL, and microservices.
• Develop and integrate RESTful and SOAP web services to support communication across systems.
• Design and optimize PL/SQL queries, procedures, and database solutions for performance.
• Participate in code reviews, debugging, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Support CI/CD, version control, testing, documentation, deployment, and release activities using Git and related tools.
