Job summary

Tradeweb is seeking a Senior Java Engineer to join a fully remote team, working on latency‑sensitive trading infrastructure. You will own end‑to‑end latency budgets, design multi‑leg execution logic, and optimize JVM performance for microsecond budgets.

You’ll collaborate with quant researchers, maintain FIX gateways, and modernize legacy Java services while expanding asset class coverage across fixed income, derivatives, FX, and more.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building production Java systems with latency-sensitive trading infra.
• Demonstrated JVM optimization for microsecond-to-low-millisecond budgets.
• Production FIX experience across multiple FIX versions with a Java FIX engine.
• Experience with high-performance messaging and binary wire formats.
• Familiarity with .NET tools alongside Java stack.

Responsibilities

• Own latency and throughput end-to-end from market-data ingest to gateway egress.
• Design and implement new algorithmic order types and synthetic multi-leg execution logic.
• Profile and tune the JVM hot path and GC behavior; use profiling tools daily.
• Operate the algo pipeline including backtesting and shadow-trading frameworks.
• Collaborate with quant team to translate signals into production-grade execution code.
• Maintain venue connectivity and exchange-direct integrations; expand asset-class support.
• Modernize legacy Java services onto current LTS and unify standards.
