Job summary

CCRM Fertility in Boston, MA is seeking an Embryologist to perform IVF laboratory procedures under supervision. You will execute fertilization checks, embryo handling, and assist with egg retrievals and embryo transfers, contributing to high survival and implantation outcomes.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or microbiology, plus licensure and 3+ years of lab experience. Work hours are Monday–Friday with weekend rotation; competitive benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or microbiology required.
• Medical technology licensure/certificate required if Embryologist completed a medical technology program.
• 3+ years’ experience in laboratory or scientific research required.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily, weekly, and periodic function checks and maintenance on equipment and troubleshoot issues.
• Follow blood borne pathogen handling and disposal procedures.
• Prepare media/mediums with sterile technique and document lots used.
• Process semen for IVF procedures according to lab protocol.
• Assist physicians during egg retrievals and identify retrieved oocytes promptly.
• Ensure correct identity of eggs, sperm, and embryos via double-signature checks.
• Document results in the LIS.
• Perform fertilization checks and observe fertilization indicators.
• Freeze and thaw human embryos with high survival rates.
• Perform oocyte inseminations and ICSI with minimal trauma.
• Assist embryo transfer with patient time-out and identity checks.
• Assist PESA, MESA, TESE procedures by locating/process sperm.
• Perform trophectoderm biopsies with high success.
• Other duties as assigned.
