Job summary

ASM Research, An Accenture Federal Services Company, seeks an IT Systems Administrator to support multiple disciplines including application support, database administration, QA/QC, software engineering, and network operations.

You will monitor and maintain IT infrastructures, perform planning and design analyses, respond to user requests, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement standards to ensure system reliability across platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field or equivalent relevant experience.
• 4-6 years of experience in information technology, systems administration or other IT related field.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and supports the information technology and systems infrastructures.
• Conducts moderately complex analysis including planning, designing, and evaluating a variety of information technology tools.
• Responds to user requests for system needs and upgrades or handles requests that are more complex.
• Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems with little to no supervision.
• Implements standards for computer operations for compatibility between hardware and software.
• Administers, runs tests on, and maintains operating system and related software.
• Schedules, performs, and monitors system backups and data recoveries.
• Performs root cause analysis, diagnostics, and monitoring on production systems.
• Identifies opportunities for process improvements and works with team members to implement efficiencies.
• Creates and maintains relevant systems documentation and user guides.
• Engaged in planning and designing new platforms and integrating new technologies; evaluates new technologies and releases.
• Conducts cost analysis of newly designed platforms and technologies.
• Creates recovery plans to reduce downtime in outages.
• Reviews problem management and identifies actions.
• Applies scripting methodologies to automate tasks.
