Job summary

City of New Orleans is seeking a Networks Maintenance Technician II to perform a range of maintenance activities in water distribution and wastewater collection systems. The role includes preventive and reactive maintenance, locating meters, and related duties as required.

Qualifications include 18 months of relevant maintenance/construction experience or a High School Diploma/GED with an additional 18 months of experience.

Qualifications

• Eighteen (18) months of maintenance and/or construction experience.
• High School Diploma or GED OR an additional 18 months of full-time experience in maintenance and/or construction.
• Permanent status with the Sewerage & Water Board and one (1) year of experience as a Networks Maintenance Technician I.
• Training courses: Reading Comprehension (COMM 100); Business Math (COMP 410) or Basic Math for Utilities Workers (COMP 400); Effective People Skills (PDVP 930).
• Prior to appointment, the hiring agency must verify current valid driver's license and education claimed by the applicant.

Responsibilities

• Second-level position in the Networks multi-skilled workforce with duties in water distribution and wastewater collection maintenance.
• Perform preventive and reactive maintenance, including locating buried/covered meters and related tasks.
