Job summary

OBXtek is hiring a Senior IT Systems/Network Engineer to support the Army’s United Network Modernization (UNM) program, in-office at Fort Belvoir, VA.

The role requires extensive network engineering, design, and integration experience, with virtualization and cloud proficiency. Candidates should have an Active Secret Clearance and relevant CCNA/CCNP or JCNP/JNCIA certs. Travel is possible for project collaboration.

Qualifications

• 10 years hands-on experience with network engineering and IT systems design/integration.
• 5 years experience with virtualization and cloud environments.
• Active Secret Clearance required.
• Cisco CCNA/CCNP or Juniper JNCIA/JCNP certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical reviews of engineering design and implementation plans for network modernization projects.
• Oversee LAN/MAN/WAN survey, design, and implementation.
• Provide technical leadership in integration and testing of large scale networks.
• Develop and establish new network architecture standards and specifications.
• Evaluate current or emerging network technologies for cost, maturity, compatibility, and usability.
• Provide technical direction for IT projects including high availability and virtualization.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and partner organizations to rapidly prototype solutions.
• Coordinate solution design with Army projects and migrations; ensure alignment with requirements.
• Direct customer engagements to determine requirements and provide updates to the Product Manager.
• Assess infrastructure modernization costs and design concepts; document design specs and installation instructions.
