Zusammenfassung

The University of Louisville is seeking an IT Systems Engineer V to lead the management of its central research computing infrastructure, including Linux-based HPC clusters, storage systems, and related software. This role reports to the Associate Vice Provost in ITS Research Computing and supports faculty and researchers across campus.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Lustre-based storage, SLURM, and a strong background in Linux system administration, scripting, and HPC

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and eight (8) years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Highly experienced with Linux-based supercomputing clusters and scalable storage systems.
• Experience with SLURM job scheduling, Lustre or similar file systems, and HPC software stacks.
• Ability to work with faculty on grants, procurement, and optimization of research codes.

Aufgaben

• Design, operate and manage complex university research supercomputing and storage systems and document procedures.
• Manage specialized research software licenses and OS/system support software.
• Assist with hardware specification, ordering and installation of new components.
• Troubleshoot performance, tune systems, and optimize job scheduling (SLURM).
• Advise faculty and students on effective use of HPC resources and assist with development and debugging of research codes.
• Collaborate on research grant proposals to expand computing resources.
• Support secure data handling and cloud/integrated environments.
