Job summary

Lumen Technologies in San Antonio seeks a Lead IT Systems Engineer for the Public Sector. You will administer Windows Server, Red Hat Linux, SQL, SharePoint, and security tooling, coordinating across engineers and vendors to ensure high availability and security. Expect travel up to 15% as mission needs dictate.

Required DoD 8570 IAT II or higher, RHCE and MSCA certifications are desirable. A IT bachelor’s degree with 3–7 years of relevant experience is preferred, with Top Secret/SCI clearances

Qualifications

• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or above required.
• RHCE certification desired.
• MSCA certifications desired.

Responsibilities

• Document and track outages using trouble ticketing systems.
• Provide advanced Tier II and III support remotely for transport backbone equipment and user applications/services.
• Escalate and troubleshoot complex issues with internal and external teams including vendors.
• Collaborate with network engineers, security personnel, PMs and vendors to meet performance criteria.
• Lead new network management/defense requirements and designs as the operations lead.
• Manage enterprise projects covering systems, networks, and SAN/NAS storage.
