Job summary

Lumen is hiring a Windows and Red Hat System Administrator in a high‑profile, security‑conscious environment. The role is based in San Antonio, with travel up to 15% as mission needs dictate.

You’ll support Tier II/III incident resolution, manage hybrid infrastructure, and work closely with network engineers and security teams to protect and optimize our nationwide fiber network and data centers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field with relevant experience.
• DoD 8570 IAT II certification or higher required.
• Experience with Windows Server 2016/2019/2022, SQL, SolarWinds, SharePoint, Exchange.
• Red Hat Linux, IDS/IPS, firewall and host security experience highly desired.
• Top Secret clearance and SCI eligibility required.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced Level II/III troubleshooting for a nationwide fiber network.
• Document outages and manage escalations via trouble-ticket systems.
• Lead enterprise projects across systems, networks, and storage.
• Configure and monitor Windows Server Failover Clusters and security tools.
• Collaborate with engineers, vendors, and security personnel to meet performance goals.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology
